1. Your consumer right to cancel
If you are an individual acting wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession and book our services at a distance, such as by email, telephone or online, or under a qualifying off-premises contract, you normally have a statutory right to cancel without giving a reason. The period begins when the contract is made and ends fourteen calendar days after the day it is made. We confirm the contract date and deadline in your booking confirmation.
If we do not provide the required cancellation information, the statutory period may be extended by up to twelve months. If we supply it during that extension, you normally have fourteen days after receiving it. This policy does not shorten any longer period the law provides.
2. How to cancel
Tell us clearly that you want to cancel. Email studio@cbrplans.co.uk, write to the cancellation address in your booking confirmation, use the optional form below, or make another clear statement, including by telephone using the booking contact details. Give your name and project address or quotation reference so we can identify the instruction. You do not have to use our form or obtain our approval.
To meet the statutory deadline, send your cancellation before the period expires. Keep a copy or other evidence. We will acknowledge it promptly. A cancellation is not ineffective merely because we have not yet acknowledged it.
3. Requesting a start during the cancellation period
We wait until your cancellation period has ended unless you expressly request an earlier start. You can make a separate written request when accepting your quote. We retain the request and confirm the start arrangements. Paying, sending plans or accepting the quotation alone does not constitute this request.
If you request an early start and cancel before full performance, you pay only a lawful amount proportionate to the service supplied up to the time you tell us you are cancelling. The amount is based on the agreed total contract price compared with the full service. If that price is excessive, the calculation uses the market value of equivalent services instead. We explain the work supplied and the calculation.
You bear no cost for services supplied during the statutory cancellation period if we failed to give the required cancellation or proportional payment information, or started without your express request. There is no separate administration or cancellation penalty during that period.
4. Full performance during the cancellation period
You lose the statutory cooling-off right only once the service has been fully performed, if we began after your express early-start request and you acknowledged before the start that this right would be lost on full performance. Full performance means completing all services in the contract, including any outstanding agreed support. Issuing a PDF does not by itself complete a contract that includes further work. Your rights concerning defective services remain.
5. Payments and refunds
If you cancel under your statutory cooling-off right before work starts, we refund all payments. Where an early start was validly requested, we account for any lawful proportional payment for services supplied and refund the remaining amount. We will provide a statement and will not treat an advance payment as automatically non-refundable.
We make statutory cancellation refunds without undue delay and within fourteen calendar days after being informed of your cancellation. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise and charge no refund fee. We will not delay a refund just because an internal cancellation approval is pending.
6. Other cancellations and business bookings
If the statutory cooling-off right does not apply, has expired or has lawfully ended on full performance, our contractual policy allows you to stop any unfinished services. Business clients also have this contractual right. Tell us using the contact details in your booking confirmation or by emailing studio@cbrplans.co.uk.
You pay a reasonable proportion of the agreed fee for services properly supplied, plus unavoidable external costs you expressly authorised that we cannot reasonably recover. We reduce those costs where possible and do not count them twice. There is no cancellation penalty or charge for our unperformed future work. The total cannot exceed the agreed price and approved additional costs.
We provide an account, refund any excess payment within fourteen calendar days and identify any balance lawfully due. We apply payments already received to that account. Charges are adjusted if our work is defective or another legal remedy applies.
7. External services and changes to scope
Independently appointed providers normally have separate cancellation terms. Where the law requires an ancillary contract linked to ours to end on cancellation, we notify the relevant provider. Statutory cooling-off deductions cannot exceed what the law allows.
For partial cancellation, we agree the remaining scope, fee and timetable before continuing, without automatic retrospective withdrawal of a package discount. If we end the service or fail to deliver, the Terms of Business and your statutory remedies govern the refund.
8. Concerns about the service
Changing your mind is different from raising defective work. If something is wrong, contact us at studio@cbrplans.co.uk. Expiry or loss of a cooling-off right does not remove rights to correction, repeat performance, a price reduction or other remedies where the law provides them.
Optional cancellation form
You may use this form or make any other clear cancellation statement. You do not need to give a reason. Email cancellation does not need a handwritten signature.

Optional early-start request
Only use this wording if you want us to start during your consumer cancellation period. Send it separately with your booking details. It is optional and must be an active choice; we confirm the start date in writing.
For my quotation and project, I expressly request that the agreed services begin before my statutory cancellation period ends, from a date agreed with you. I understand that if I cancel before full performance, I must pay a lawful amount proportionate to the services supplied up to the time I inform you of cancellation, as explained in the Cancellation Policy. I acknowledge that I will lose my statutory cooling-off right once the agreed service has been fully performed following this request. My rights concerning defective services are unaffected.
